Welcome to my Klyshevich family page!

My name is Aliaks Klyshevich (Short from Aliaksandr). I live in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. I am a wedding photographer and provide wedding photography services in the greater Atlanta area . Here is a link to my Atlanta wedding photography website DomFoto.com for more info about me and what I do for living.

I have decided to create this page in reason to find more information about my great relatives. Unfortunatly, I am the "last" Klyshevich man in my family tree. So, I am the last chance for my great-great grandfather Ignat Klyshevich for keeping Klyshevich's blood alive. All other Klyshevich's sons are dead or have no children or have daughters.

My family roots grow deep in the East Rech Pospolita- confederation of Poland and Lithunia, 1569. Which is the West part of Belarus today. As a result of three divisions of Recz Pospolita in 1772, 1793 and 1795 between three empires Russia, Austria and Prussia the Belarusian lands were incorporated into the Russian Empire.

My grandparents lived in Belarus, Grodno area, Shchuchin district, village Zapolle. Big local towns are: Rozhanka, Zheludok, Mosty, Schuchin, Lida, Volkovysk. I have created my family tree you can find below. All information you see obtained from my grandmather Valentina Ivanovna Klyshevich (maiden name: Lebed). I interviewed her about 20 years ago after my granfather Alexander Klyshevich's death. I have recorded all names. And I am 100% sure this tree is correct. Unfortunatly, I did not record the stories my grandmather told me. I remember some information about the relatives in the tree, but I would like to know more about all of them, specialy about great grandfather Stepan Klyshevich (may be writen in Polish as Stephan Klyshevich) and great-great grandfather Ignat Klyshevich. What I know about them, they lived in the same area as my grandparents lived - in Belarus (that time it was Poland). The family had a big piece of land and a house close to one of two forests Lukovitsa or Dubrava. It was a staying alone house (looked like a manor house). From my grandmather's stories I know that one of Klyshevich brothers moved to America and worked hard for iron producing factory. I quess, he helped to buy a piece of land to my relatives in Poland (Rech Pospolita). I have a copy of a "Land Purchase Contract". In the end of 1930-th Communist Power came to that place and took all private land from people.

All administrative documents where burned out in WWII (1941-1945). So, there is no way to find any information related to "before 1945" period of time.

The hot questions I have:

  • What are the names of Ignat Klyshevich's father, grandfather, great grandfather?

  • How many brothers my great-grandfather had?

  • What are their names?

  • One day I would like to create a page www.klyshevich.com where our heirs will be able to find information about our name and our relatives. Could you help me with information about us?

  • Please send me the story of your Klyshevich Family.

We are Klyshevich! Lets stay together!
